報告摘要:
The GMRES method is one of the most popular Krylov-subspace methods for solving nonsymmetric linear systems. The GMRES method shows a good convergence, but it has disadvantage of storage and computational costs. To remedy the disadvantage, restarted version of the GMRES method, the GMRES(m) method, is widely used as a practical choice. In this talk, we will analyze the unfixed update in GMRES(m) method based on the residual polynomials. Then a GMRES(m) method with Look-Back-type restart will be proposed in the framework of unfixed update. The numerical experiments indicate that the GMRES(m) method Look-Back-type restart is more efficient than the GMRES(m) method in many cases.

張紹良,日本名古屋大學工學院應用物理系教授,名古屋大學中國交流中心主任。1983年在吉林大學數學系畢業,1990年在日本築波大學獲工學博士。曾在計算流體力學研究所(研究員),築波大學(講師),東京大學(副教授/教授)任職,2005年現職。從事大型科學與工程計算的高速算法研究開發工作。是Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM), Japan Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (JSIAM) 的會員,曾任East Asia Section of SIAM的秘書長,4次獲JSIAM優秀論文獎。
